We always see posts criticizing Damon and posts criticizing Caroline for hating him and no one shows the two sides at the same time. Yes, Damon was a dick (and still is, from time to time) to Caroline, and yes, he has saved her a few times and defended her to her mother. But in this case, the good things don’t soften the bad. If the writers really wanted to redeem Damon, making him apologize to Caroline would be the perfect start, tbh. A decent and proper apologize scene would be great, right? You may think Caroline is a little hypocritical (since she has a crush on Klaus) but who isn’t? She has the right to hate him [Damon] and she has the right to be mad at Elena for killing Jesse.
He’s angry, dark. Doesn’t feel safe and doesn’t know what to do about it. He wishes he could control his demons instead of having his demons control him. He’s lost. Alone.
